Class up DIY

A lot of the creative work we do as a design agency is now created with tools on a computer, but originally all of these beautiful ideas were made by hand. That's why I think it's natural for me to like getting my hands dirty, making artsy things, building stuff and getting better at small fixer-upper projects around the house. But some DIY projects can come off looking cheesy, so when I find an idea, I always try and step back and say, "Would I want to buy this?" If the answer is "Yes!" then I found a winner because it will be even more special that I made it.

Here are some classy DIY projects that I've found (and are on my to-do list) that range from easy and fun to do for a range of ages, to a little more challenging but with a really cool end result.

DIP DYE PLACEMATS
I don't have a set of placemats that feel 'everyday casual' so making these seem like a fun idea to add some subtle color to the dining table.
