Wrapping up at Øredev
Day 2 at Øredev was full of great talks, including Matt Lewis’ opening keynote on self driving cars, Jimmy Bogard’s on Full stack REST with IO.js, react,JS and react native, Val Head’s talk on designing meaningful web animation, and Timothy Urban’s mind-blowing end of the day keynote on “The AI Revolution: The Road to Superintelligence.” I’m sure there are many that I’m not mentioning, but these were the ones that stood out to me.
The great thing is that all of the talks from Øredev are recorded and are available for viewing here: https://vimeo.com/user4280938/videos. Also, look for Timothy Urban’s blog post in the next couple days on AI on his super popular blog Wait but Why. It’s going to be epic!
Overall, what a great experience! I met plenty of developers, mostly from Sweden and other Nordic countries, and got to mingle with some of the speakers and thought-leaders in our field. I’m sure everyone at Sköna is also wondering about the food! Yes, there was food! And it was surprisingly good, and pretty fancy considering the scale of the event. This was my first time at Øredev, and hopefully not the last!
I’m off to Copenhagen now to explore, shop, and do the touristy things for a few days before heading back to the states. Here's a few pictures from my trip:
